The Korg Monotron DUO is a compact and portable analog synthesizer designed for musicians and enthusiasts. This monophonic synthesizer features a ribbon keyboard and a built-in miniature speaker, making it perfect for on-the-go sound creation.

This device is part of Korg's popular line of pint-sized analog synths, offering a rich and versatile sound experience. Powered by two analog voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), each with individual tunings, it allows users to create a wide range of analog sounds and intervals.

Additionally, it includes an edgy X-MOD circuit borrowed from Korg's classic Mono/Poly, which enables cross modulation between the two oscillators. This exciting feature introduces new harmonics and overtones, which can create metallic screeches, glistening bells, and robotic warbles.

The ribbon controller keyboard allows for flexibility with a Scale Select function, enabling users to choose from four scales: Chromatic, Major, Minor, or Off. This enhances musical exploration and creativity.

In order to provide an optimal sound experience, the original analog voltage-controlled filter (VCF) circuit is adapted from the classic Korg MS-10 and MS-20 synths, providing a warm and gooey sound characteristic of analog filters.
